Let’s Cross the Borders

“Peace between countries must rest on the solid foundation of lobe between individuals- Mahatma Gandhi”

Ranjitsinh Disale wanted to create a world of peace that our forefathers dreamt of and to create this kind of a world we have to nurture peaceful citizens and also make an effort to have dialogues and increase friendships between people of countries where there are tensions between them.

As part of his commitment to work on sustainable development goals, Rajitisnh designed and implemented a project called, “lets cross the borders” which aims promoting peace and nonviolence between countries where tensions exists by establishing dialogues between GenX citizens. Students from countries like India- Pakistan, Israel- Palestine, Iraq-Iran learn from countries like Finland, Austria, Iceland etc where there is absolute peace.

The aim of the project is to change the younger generation’s perception about the so called enemy countries, to understand the culture of the neighbouring country so as to bring up a generation of empathetic citizens who will try to have peaceful relations between countries.

As part of this project students from different countries get to interact for 6 weeks to discuss their similarities and erase any kind of differences which alters peace between their countries. Children from India and Pakistan have interacted as part of this mission and during one such interaction a Pakistani girl expressed anguish at the fact that despite so many similarities people from India and Pakistan are unable to speakto each other when people from European countries where there are so many differences interact with each other without any problems.

The ultimate aim of this project is to mobilize 50,000 students from across the globe as ambassadors of peace and nonviolence.
